Nothing quite like waking up in the morning after a night of driving and realizing that you’ll be staying right beside a running trail. I was beyond ecstatic upon my arrival in Moncton. A running trail at my doorstep, a first on this trip thus far.
There are more than 60kms of trails in and around Moncton. They’re located in Moncton proper, Dieppe and Riverview. A lot of the trails are located along the Petitcodiac River, otherwise known as the “Chocolate River”. Speaking of the Petitcodiac River, twice a day, local surfers can ride the tidal bore, one of the biggest continuous waves in the world. If I would have known, I would have brought my surfboard and wetsuit!
The trails are a mix of crushed stone and pavement. The views of the river and the countryside are truly stunning. I went for a sunset run the evening I was there and it was truly beautiful!

Yay for Moncton! Thanks for the promo Mel. Those trails are wonderful. Often windy, but flat and scenic. Wonderful photos, once again.
