Pink is a hot color this season! Though I don’t have a pale pink jacket to strut around in, I definitely have a few pink garments and accessories that I like to wear once in a while. Like most girls, I loved pink as a child but haven’t been wearing much pink in the last few years. I like that the clothes I’m wearing today are a variation of pink! Are you someone that wears a lot of pink?
Finally, after probably one of the busiests weeks of my life, I’m back home!! It was really lovely to some my family while I was in Montreal as well as some old friends but as I’ve said before, there’s nothing quite like sleeping in your own bed!! I did however make good use of my hotel’s gym and lot’s of room service while I was away… It made the week go by faster!
Only 3 weeks before our departure for France, so thrilled! I’m really looking forward to being home for those three weeks before I leave again for a month. I’m going to take that time to make lot’s of homemade meals, write Christmas cards, enjoy our newly decorated apartment, lakefront runs and catching up with friends! What is it you love doing most after coming home from a trip?
Kept it pretty basic for today’s outfit. Stripes, super comfy & soft TOPSHOP skinnies and some spiked boots.
Happy Monday everyone! The countdown to my France trip has begun! 29 days and counting! Can’t wait to be back in this beautiful country!
How was your weekend? I had a fabulous time in the city with my childhood best friend! We had a tasty dinner at one of my favorite spots – Terroni. Also went for a beautiful run on the waterfront, enjoyed some pampering at The Ten Spot and did a bit of shopping on Queen West. Finished our night with the Keanu Reeves directorial debut film – Man of Tai Chi (already available on iTunes), which was unfortunately riddled with clichés and lot’s of cheese. That said, there were some well choreographed fight sequences.
In my ears this morning, the new The Balconies record Fast Motions! Keeping my pumped for this upcoming week! If you’ve pledged to their new record, you can now download it for free via the Pledge Music site 🙂
Today’s daily outfit apparently makes me look like Serena Ryder. I take that as a compliment, the woman’s got mad rock n’ roll style! Wearing my big black floppy hat with my super comfy burnt orange stretchy scoop neck tee and some Anine Bing pants and boots.

Another Monday, another fresh start! Weeks are flying by! Can’t believe it’s already November. I’d say that November and January are my least favorite months of the year just because they’re usually really cold and dark months. Got so many things to do for work this month, so I’m certain it’ll go by fast and before I know it, I’ll be on my way to France! What do you like or dislike about November?
I watched a really great documentary this weekend called SOMM – a film that follows a few American candidates who are preparing to pass the Master Sommelier exam, the highest recognized level of sommeliers in the world. In 93 minutes you learn a whole lot not only about what it takes to because a Master Sommelier but also a lot about the culture, the history and the lives of the sommeliers not only in America but across the world as well. As someone who’s getting to know wine better and better, it was a really interesting flick to watch.
I picked the rhombus on my skirt as the theme for today’s daily outfit. Lot’s of dark colors mixed with a pop of white! I do fear that I will be dressing in a lot of dark colors again this winter but I will make a conscious effort to add more color to the mix this season.
The wait is finally over!! My handmade Modern Vice boots finally arrived in the mail yesterday straight from the factory in NYC. I’ve never owned a pair of boots in my life where I had seen exactly where they’ve been made, who made them, etc. so this is a very special pair to me. They came in a beautiful purple box, all polished and had that dreamy new leather smell. What I love about these boots is that they were not only handmade just for me but no two pairs are alike. Though it was hard to pick just one pair, I opted for the Camo Jetts because I think they will go with just about everything and seemed warm enough to get me through the fall, winter and upcoming spring.
Modern Vice has been really busy as of late shipping orders left right and centre to stores such as Anthropologie and also because of their many amazing collaborations. Really exciting for a brand that hasn’t been around for too long. Major props to JordanAdoni, his brother Jensen Adoni and Natalie Suarez for knowing how to not only offer a great product at a good price but also knowing exactly how to market these amazing boots.
I’m really happy to officially be a part of the Modern Vice Family now!
Thursday oh Thursday! Only a day away from Friday!
Had such a lovely time last night at WMCFW! It was super flattering to see my outfit on a site like BlogTo‘s street style section this morning. Thank you!

Tomorrow, I’m off to Montreal to guest bartend at a happy hour being held at the Divan Orange in Montreal. If you don’t have plans already, come see me break bottles and probably pour too much alcohol in everyone’s drinks. My shift starts at 5pm! More info here.
Today, I’m proudly wearing my friend… No really… I’m wearing the newest The Balconies tee with a lunging Jacquie on it! I had the pleasure of helping out during their latest album cover and merch photo shoot. So stoked on how these turned out. Can’t wait to see the album cover! Extremely proud to see Jacquie lunging with a pair of my kicks 🙂
It was a rainy weekend in Toronto but I still got to walk around a bit (with my new Hugo Boss bag that I won thanks to the lovely Natalie Suarez & The 88 in NYC. Yay! I love it!!), play some good old monopoly and check out some rad bands at Indie Week. My favorite band of the weekend: Diamond Bones from Montreal. They’ve got a new record in the works, stoked for y’all to hear it.
Today’s the day World MasterCard Fashion Week officially starts in Toronto. Really looking forward to seeing all the SS14 collections. I had such a blast last season! Also looking forward to seeing a lot of fellow bloggers and fabulous fashion peeps from the city.
For today’s outfit, I’m wearing a brand new dress from Zara, some Biko Jewellery swag and my Hugo Boss handbag 🙂
Today was one heck of an early wake up call for work but it was for a good cause. We had the pleasure of filming a performance and interview with Shad. Have you heard his new record Flying Colours? It’s honestly one of the best things I’ve heard all year. His rhymes are so clever, his music is powerful and so well crafted. I wouldn’t be surprised if his talent not only brings him across the border down south but also around the world. So nice to listen to hip hop artists that have a positive message, that have meaning in their songs and that make you reflect on life. It was a real pleasure to speak with him today! If you haven’t already, go listen to Flying Colours. In the meantime, here’s his first single “Stylin“:
I had the opportunity to stop by Biko Jewellery‘s sample sale this afternoon on the way home from work. So many sparkly goodies were being sold! There was already almost nothing left by the time I got there. I couldn’t be more thrilled for Corrine and couldn’t help but add to my collection while I was there 😉
Today’s half awake daily outfit has lot’s of red. Gravitating more and more towards that color as of late. Love this new shirt that I got from Zara earlier this week, it’s so soft and comfy! TGIF!! Happy weekend! xo
Zara TRF Basic Short Sleeve T-Shirt Terracotta (get it here)
Stoked for Biko Jewellery’s sample sale that starts today! For all the deets, go here.
This week is Indie Week in Toronto. Lot’s of great shows happening around the city featuring some of Canada’s best indie bands. The festival goes on until the end of the week. There are still some tickets left, so if you’re looking for some great Canadian music to check out, go see the line up here.
The hat is back! I love it because not only is it really stylish but it’s also the perfect mix between a fedora and a cowboy hat! Wearing this hat has me wondering if I should buy more 😉
Yesterday, I received a lovely package from one of my favorite jewelry designers from LA called Vanessa Mooney. For the last couple of years, I’ve been following her evolution in the world of fashion. To me, her jewelry designs represent a strong free-spirited woman and totally embodies the Californian essence. I’ve always loved all of her lookbooks and ad campaigns, I love how the women are portrayed, the styling and the locations she chooses to shoot them in. Vanessa is a self-taught designer who does everything by hand in her Los Angeles studio. She recently acquired quite a celebrity following, stars such as Jessica Alba, Hilary Duff, Megan Fox and Emma Roberts have all been seen with her jewels. I totally see myself as a “Vanessa Mooney” kind of girl. Though I have yet to meet this wonderful designer, I’m beyond proud to be able to rock some of her items here in Canada. I’m over the moon with my new jewels!
