Biko Jewellery just launched her brand new collection yesterday called BEACHCOMBER! It’s super dreamy and is making me so excited for summer! Check out her little promo video below! In celebration, I’m wearing some of my Biko favs!
We’ve all heard of the KISS acronym – Keep it simple, stupid. One thing I didn’t know is that the principle was originally noted by the US Navy in 1960 as a design principle. They noted that “simplicity should be a key goal in design and unnecessary complexity should be avoided“. Though I rarely dress with principles in mind, today’s outfit totally made me think of KISS. I often boggle my brain trying to find a ton of accessories and jewelry to add to my outfit but today, I kept the whole look SIMPLE! And you know what? It was kind of refreshing!
I remember being a child and making a Christmas present list every year for Santa Claus and then as I got older for my parents. Though I don’t make lists anymore (because let’s be honest, I have more than I could ever need – I’m healthy, I’m surrounded by amazing friends and family, I have a roof over my head, I get to eat 3 meals a day and I get to do things I love!), I thought it’d be fun to make a fake fashion holiday wish list this year. There are just so many beautiful garments that exist in the world, a girl can dream can’t she? Here are a few of my favorite things…

Pink is a hot color this season! Though I don’t have a pale pink jacket to strut around in, I definitely have a few pink garments and accessories that I like to wear once in a while. Like most girls, I loved pink as a child but haven’t been wearing much pink in the last few years. I like that the clothes I’m wearing today are a variation of pink! Are you someone that wears a lot of pink?
Happy Wednesday! How’s your thus far? In a week from today I’ll be back on the road for work, probably my last work trip of the year before the holidays. Back to Montreal again to amongst other things, co-host a music gala. Once that’s over, the mental prep for France will commence. For those who’ve been to France before, what were some of your favorite hotspots? Your favorite areas? Anything to recommend? I’m always on the lookout for new things to check out while travelling!
Back with the prints on today’s outfit. I’m wearing a more subdued version of the leopard print with these grey pants. I’ve paired that with some gold brass and grey stone accessories.
Zara basic blue scoop neck shirt
H&M grey leopard print pants
Uranium Glazing necklace (from the upcoming Fall 2013 collection)
Snow may not have hit Toronto yet but it’s definitely beanie weather again. I found this super cute knit beanie at H&M the other night and thought it’d be the perfect addition to my growing beanie collection. I used to think I looked silly with a beanie on but it’s definitely grown on me! Do you like beanies? Do you think it’s just a fad?
Speaking of H&M, how exciting is the new Isabel Marant x H&M collection that will be out on November 14th? Everyone’s been talking about it for the last couple of weeks. I saw tons of photos from the official launch in Paris last week and a bunch from the H&M collection preview last night in Toronto. Here are some of my fav looks from their ad campaign… These looks will be flying off the shelves in no time, mark my words!
The wait is finally over!! My handmade Modern Vice boots finally arrived in the mail yesterday straight from the factory in NYC. I’ve never owned a pair of boots in my life where I had seen exactly where they’ve been made, who made them, etc. so this is a very special pair to me. They came in a beautiful purple box, all polished and had that dreamy new leather smell. What I love about these boots is that they were not only handmade just for me but no two pairs are alike. Though it was hard to pick just one pair, I opted for the Camo Jetts because I think they will go with just about everything and seemed warm enough to get me through the fall, winter and upcoming spring.
Modern Vice has been really busy as of late shipping orders left right and centre to stores such as Anthropologie and also because of their many amazing collaborations. Really exciting for a brand that hasn’t been around for too long. Major props to JordanAdoni, his brother Jensen Adoni and Natalie Suarez for knowing how to not only offer a great product at a good price but also knowing exactly how to market these amazing boots.
I’m really happy to officially be a part of the Modern Vice Family now!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I spent a rare weekend in Toronto and it was a gorgeous one! Nothing quite like going for brunch on the weekend. I discovered a new spot in Little Portugal called Bivy, owned by a lovely French man. I had a great tartiflette quiche and a yummy homemade almond croissant. Cute little spot, tasty food and good prices!
Like most Torontonians, I went to check out this year’s CNE yesterday. Though it seems like the perfect day-trip for kids, as an adult it’s a pretty pricey outing! $16 per person admission fee, $22 for two rides (I recommend skipping the Euroslide, looks rad from far but you barely make it all the way down) and $5+ for games! The food building is always a trip though. I actually resisted the temptation of getting any deep fried mac n’ cheese balls or deep fried mars bars… After my cleanse last week, I figured it wouldn’t be the best thing 😉 My favorite part of the afternoon – meeting the Alpacas!! They have the best hairdos!! Nevertheless, we had a fun afternoon in the sun, walking around and enjoying the sights! The Ex is on until September 2nd, a bunch of Canadian bands are playing so check out the schedule!
For today’s outfit, I’m wearing punches of red – red plaid shirt, red belt and my rad red and gold spike boots!
How spoiled were we today? We had the best weather in Toronto!
Started off this magnificent day with a nice lakefront run with my partner in crime @offneraurelien. He’s a great running partner!
Following our run, we grabbed a late lunch on the patio of the Drake Hotel. Always good food and good drinks at the Drake. We continued our day with a little ballad along Queen west and I stopped by Jacflash to grab a brand new One TeaspoonSuperman Bodice bikini for my upcoming vacation in California. I’ve been seeing the bikini pop up on my instagram feed and needed to get one for myself. I love the cut, the straps and the hot pink is adorable! Can’t wait to rock it in Venice (not surfing in this though ;))!
We finished off our walk with a little stop by Bellwoods, which was even more packed than usual. No surprise here! All in all, another fabulous day! Stoked for our vacation next week but also really enjoying the weather in the city. Now… movie night?!
Happy to finally be wearing shorts today! For my outfit, I mixed shades of blue, florals and also black and gold accessories. Love stacking two of my favorite necklaces: the Biko Colby necklace & the Uranium Sign necklace.
Montreal is finally starting to warm up and is looking very pretty with all the trees and flowers in bloom. There’s no doubt that the city really comes alive in the summer. I’ll be heading back in just over a month to cover the Polaris Prize Long List announcement as well as the Francofolies de Montréal, a great Francophone music festival that features French artists from around the world.
Had a bunch of meetings on Friday in Montreal and this is what I wore!
