Modern Vice Family

The wait is finally over!! My handmade Modern Vice boots finally arrived in the mail yesterday straight from the factory in NYC. I’ve never owned a pair of boots in my life where I had seen exactly where they’ve been made, who made them, etc. so this is a very special pair to me. They came in a beautiful purple box, all polished and had that dreamy new leather smell. What I love about these boots is that they were not only handmade just for me but no two pairs are alike. Though it was hard to pick just one pair, I opted for the Camo Jetts because I think they will go with just about everything and seemed warm enough to get me through the fall, winter and upcoming spring.

Modern Vice has been really busy as of late shipping orders left right and centre to stores such as Anthropologie and also because of their many amazing collaborations. Really exciting for a brand that hasn’t been around for too long. Major props to Jordan Adoni, his brother Jensen Adoni and Natalie Suarez for knowing how to not only offer a great product at a good price but also knowing exactly how to market these amazing boots.

I’m really happy to officially be a part of the Modern Vice Family now!

September Blues #DailyOutfit

Yesterday we received our first ever Fresh City Farms vegetable and fruit bag, from local organic farmers in Ontario. I can’t believe I didn’t think of doing this before. For $30 a week, they deliver right to your doorstep a bag filled with seasonal fruits and veggies. You can also add a bunch of extras to your bag: cheese, honey, fresh bread, etc. They also give you some sample recipes every week, recipes for the fruits and veggies in your bag. What’s great about getting a different bag each week is that it forces you to not only eat healthy but also helps you be more creative with the food you make. Plus, being someone who eats a lot of fruits and veggies every day, I find that this makes it a lot cheaper.

So last night, I used some of the veggies we had received to make my first ever homemade pottage. It really didn’t take long! I basically just boiled a bunch of veggies from the bag (leek, brocoli, mushrooms, tomatos, garlic), added a few spices, a bit of oil and olive juice, a touch of almond milk and blended everything up. Voilà! Perfect for the fall!
