My first outfit for World MasterCard Fashion Week this season is a combination of comfort and class. With it being a cold and rainy day, I wanted to make sure I felt cozy! I saw someone wearing these MAJ Adidas leopard runners on the streetcar a few weeks ago and I knew I had to get them. Yes, my leopard obsession has not stopped. I’ve paired this funky sneakers with some grey trousers and my grey coat.
Pinch me! I can’t believe it’s already October! Things I love about October: the leaves changing colours, the crisp smell of fall, being able to wear pants again, bringing my collection of teas back out, etc! Another thing about October is that it’s BREAST CANCER AWARENESS month. Breast cancer is a cause that touches me directly, my mother is a breast cancer survivor. Unfortunately, a lot of her friends who were also diagnosed around the same time as her, have passed away. We’ve come such a long way in regards to treatment but we still have so much further to go. There are so many great initiatives and campaigns out there to raise funds for breast cancer. I particularly liked this unique campaign I saw today by Surfline x Mauli Ola Foundation called “Battle For The Breasts”, which gets you to vote for your favorite women surfers. You can check it out here. For more information on Breast Cancer Awareness month, you can check out the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation or your local Breast Cancer organization.
Enjoying the last few days of warm weather this year to wear my shorts a couple more times. Wearing a long sleeve shirt today just to make the outfit a little warmer.
It was a beautiful day in Toronto today. I’ve been enjoying being home these past couple of weeks because I rarely get to be home for more than a couple of days. Plus, it’s a great time of year to be in Toronto, there’s so much going on and so much to do. Though it’s slowly starting to get cold, there are still some beautiful evenings like tonight, which are already made me nostalgic about summer. I feel like summer went by in a flash this year, more so than in recent years. Maybe it was because of the mostly cold and rainy weather or maybe because I spent most of the time away on the road. I’m still not fully ready to put away my summer wardrobe and want to enjoy the outdoors as much as I can, while I can!
Happy long weekend everyone! Stoked to be home for this one. What will you be doing? I will definitely be watching some Lollapaloozalive, running, brunching and sleeping in! Here’s my weekend kick-off track!
Took my new Nike Free TR Fit 4 sneakers to work today and my feet couldn’t be happier. Super happy to see more people dressing up the sneaker look. Not sure I’m ready to go full out sneaker with a dress look because it basically goes against everything my mom taught me, but I have no qualms giving my feet a rest once in a while. I like these ones particularly because they’re black and can go with just about everything! Yay or Nay for the sneaker look?
Speaking of sneakers, anyone remember this band?! Holy 90s flashback! To this day, I’m still not too sure what it means to be a “sneaker pimp”…
Been on the road this past week for work in Quebec City. While I was there, I got to see some amazing shows including Tegan and Sara (hello dreamy sunset!), Serena Ryder, Mozart’s Sister and Phantogram (best show I’ve seen this year, hands down!! In case you haven’t checked it out yet, go read my 5 Questions With: Sarah Barthel of Phantogramhere). Happy to be home for a few days before heading to NYC!
