Never thought I’d be a big fan of baggy faux leather pants but then I tried on this comfy as hell pants from M for Mendocino a few weeks back and decided to had to have them. Not only are they comfy but they’re also super warm. I think they’ll officially become my new travel pants. Plus you get dress them up with heels or with a nice pair of boots or even opt for a more casual look with sneakers or slip-on shoes. Would you wear the baggy leather pant?
Happy Monday everyone! What did you all get up to this weekend? It was so beautiful out this weekend in Toronto! I couldn’t resist hitting up one of my favorite places for brunch on Saturday – The Drake Hotel for some delicious post-run grub (look at the beautiful flowers I found on my run this weekend)! This place really does have the best brunch selection. My current fav: the scrabbled burrito! What’s also amazing, are their homemade blueberry scones! The Drake has definitely become one of my favorites for many reasons including their rooftop patio, which is just perfect for the summer and also the fact they play some of the best Canadian music!
Pretty excited about finally wearing skirts without stockings! I particularly loved this pairing between my stellar new Modern Vice boots and my Zara Batick skirt!
Today, I had the pleasure of attending Lotus Leaf‘s #pressdays, a super charming event the Toronto based pr and social media agency organizes for local media. I particularly loved how well the event was organized and their attention to detail. Everyone was welcomed by Jules Che‘s staff and were immediately offered yummy treats and refreshments and taken to all the different booths by one of the lovely Lotus Leaf ladies. The company’s founder Jules Che looked amazing as usual and also greeted everyone who came in. One of my favorite things about going to the Lotus Leaf office, is their motto wall. How inspiring is that?
Out of the carefully handpicked brands that were present today, my favorite collection was without a doubt the Manitobah Mukluks. It was so nice to hear more about the Canadian company, the story and culture behind the Mukluks. They have these incredible new cowboy boot inspired boots called the Okotoks that will be coming out in the fall. I can’t wait to get myself a pair!!
I also really enjoyed all the new watches presented by WATCH IT!. Loved the new Karl Lagerfeld, Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs collections they had on display. Lot’s of rose gold and colors for the fall.
To my delight, Dr. Martens made a serious comeback this past year thanks to a handful of celebrities including Miley Cyrus (how can we forget her “Wrecking Ball” video?!). I was a big Dr. Martens fan as a teen, wanting to get myself a yellow pair of docs in the 90s to mimic Gwen Stefani‘s always stellar style. I’m happy to see the brand is back “in style” and has been able to use this opportunity to develop their product line even more. My favorite new boots for the fall – the snakeskin print!
Lotus Leaf also had a few pieces out from the new “Southwestern” inspired Guess collection. Those who know me, know how much I love anything with a western vibe. Loved their faux-fur colorful coats and fringe jackets!
Henkaa brought their beautiful new dresses, Pink Martini showcased their fabulous coats and ponchos and there were a handful of other fun brands all gathered in this cute little office space. Everyone was incredibly smiley and friendly and made the visit all that much more enjoyable.
All in all, a super fun #pressday with the Lotus Leaf darlings!
The last time I remember wearing a headband before this year must have been when I was in high school or maybe even younger. If you check Pinterest (here!) or you go on any fashion website or designer site (here!), you’ll see that headbands are everywhere right now. They are no longer just for Coachella flower girls or for working out, headbands are definitely more of an “every day” hair accessory now. When I received this rad leopard headband from Uranium, I couldn’t help my try to style it. Surprisingly, I didn’t look like a total goof (or at least that’s what I think!). What I like about headbands is that there are all sorts, some dressier than others and are a perfect way to add a little extra something to your outfit. Plus it’s perfect for a bad hair day! Are you a fan of headbands?
Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend! Getting excited for the next couple of weeks. Not only is Canadian Music Week (have you made your schedule yet? Who are you excited to see?) two weeks away, but there are also a lot of travel plans in the works for the next couple of months! Traveling has become such an important part of my life. The more I travel, the more I feel energized, inspired and grounded. I also learn so much from all of my trips. I can’t wait to tell you what my next big destination will be!
In the meantime, I’m excited for spending more and more time outdoors (so excited about the new little patio that Offner has created for us, yay!!) and finally being able to wear my ripped jeans a lot more. Ripped jeans are everywhere this season. You can get them pretty much everywhere. The ones I’m wearing today are from Anine Bing. I like that they only have one small hole at the knee, so it’s still pretty discreet. You can also make your own ripped jeans. I like this Free People tutorial that you can check out here. I have yet to try it out myself but may do so with one of my older pairs of jeans.
Two of my favorite things in life are California (yup no surprise here!) and wine! I therefore couldn’t be more excited about having been invited to the California Wine Fair taking place at the Fairmont Royal York this evening. So I figured I’d dress up for the evening with some green and shimmery black. I’ll have a recap post about the event on the blog tomorrow, stay tuned!
Trying to find ways to keep warm in the winter time isn’t always that easy. I love wearing dresses and skirts but I always end up freezing my butt off! @Offnerfound me the perfect solution! He got me these rad knee-high hot socks from American Apparel last week. Not only are they hot but they also keep me hot 😉
Today was potentially the coldest day I’ve seen in Toronto since I moved to the city a few years ago. Keeping warm with some tea, fresh juices, good tunes (this new track from Phantogram is killer!!) and thinking of the warm California sun! The countdown begins shortly!
Though being sick doesn’t make you feel like the most chic person in the world, wearing a t-shirt that says “Do Epic Chic” definitely motivated me this morning to put on a brave face and go to work while feeling super ill. Plus this special eLUXE x Song of Style collaboration tee is super comfy and fits just perfectly!
Decided to make myself some homemade soup with lot’s of spices this evening in order to hopefully get back in tip top shape!! Plus I love making soup!! (Here is one of my favorite recipes!)
