Pink is a hot color this season! Though I don’t have a pale pink jacket to strut around in, I definitely have a few pink garments and accessories that I like to wear once in a while. Like most girls, I loved pink as a child but haven’t been wearing much pink in the last few years. I like that the clothes I’m wearing today are a variation of pink! Are you someone that wears a lot of pink?
T – 14 days before my next adventure – France!!! Ah can’t wait! Still have 4 shows to shoot before I leave including our holiday special.
It’s been really cold in Toronto these past few stays so I’ve been staying sane by sipping lot’s of tea and also watching some surf flicks. Last night I watched the doc featuring Kelly Slater: The Ultimate Wave – Teahupoo. The film is really well shot and is not only beautiful to watch but also informational. After watching it, all I wanted to do was pack my bags and leave for Tahiti stat! Check out the trailer below:
Today’s outfit was centered around my the 10th Tribe beanie and some green and black items. My Modern Vice Camo Jetts go perfectly with this kind of moto and army themed ensemble. I love me some post-work reading.
Last night I brought out my inner nerd at the Xbox One launch in Toronto. I had never been to a gaming launch before so it was a really fun experience to not only be with a lot of other media folks I know but also a ton of gamers. Microsoft definitely threw a great party with plenty of food (Hello Food Trucks!!), booze and of course Xbox One consoles everywhere around the room for people to try out. I’ve never owned a console in my life though I’ve been surrounded by lot’s of gamers ever since I was a teen. As a kid, I wasn’t allowed to play video games so would play Mario Bros or even Donkey Kong secretly when I went over to friends’ houses on weekends or after school. It blows my mind to see just how much gaming has evolved in the past 20+ years. Last night’s demonstration of the new console is definitely a glimpse into the future. Each game looked so real and very movie-like, the console’s many features (voice command, real vision camera, cloud infrastructure, Skype and the whole entertainment structure) are also very impressive! Albeit, I’ve never created a gamer tag before, I’m starting to think I probably should since we now have the best and latest gaming console at home! #nerdalert
For today’s outfit, I kept it real simple with some comfortable slacks, a bold necklace and my favorite boots from Anine Bing. So stoked for the weekend! On the menu: hitting the brand new Ripleys Aquarium in Toronto. What are you up to this weekend?!
Last day in Toronto for a week. Off to Montreal tomorrow for work. I know it’s been snowing already in Quebec so I’m gonna make sure I dress SUPER warm and bring along my Zara furry leopard coat!!
I recently added yet another leopard print item to my wardrobe. This time, it’s a long pencil skirt. I’ve had a thing for leopard print skirts ever since I saw Gwen Stefani wear one in the “Sunday Morning” music video back in what 1997? If you need a refresher, click here. I paired that up today with a stripped black and white top and my Anine Bing boots. So glad I opted for low heels because a below the knee stretchy pencil skirt is hard to walk in 😉
Happy Monday everyone! The countdown to my France trip has begun! 29 days and counting! Can’t wait to be back in this beautiful country!
How was your weekend? I had a fabulous time in the city with my childhood best friend! We had a tasty dinner at one of my favorite spots – Terroni. Also went for a beautiful run on the waterfront, enjoyed some pampering at The Ten Spot and did a bit of shopping on Queen West. Finished our night with the Keanu Reeves directorial debut film – Man of Tai Chi (already available on iTunes), which was unfortunately riddled with clichés and lot’s of cheese. That said, there were some well choreographed fight sequences.
In my ears this morning, the new The Balconies record Fast Motions! Keeping my pumped for this upcoming week! If you’ve pledged to their new record, you can now download it for free via the Pledge Music site 🙂
Today’s daily outfit apparently makes me look like Serena Ryder. I take that as a compliment, the woman’s got mad rock n’ roll style! Wearing my big black floppy hat with my super comfy burnt orange stretchy scoop neck tee and some Anine Bing pants and boots.
Forever 21 burnt orange zip pocket tee
Lionette Gilmore bracelet (to order please go here)
Happy Wednesday! How’s your thus far? In a week from today I’ll be back on the road for work, probably my last work trip of the year before the holidays. Back to Montreal again to amongst other things, co-host a music gala. Once that’s over, the mental prep for France will commence. For those who’ve been to France before, what were some of your favorite hotspots? Your favorite areas? Anything to recommend? I’m always on the lookout for new things to check out while travelling!
Back with the prints on today’s outfit. I’m wearing a more subdued version of the leopard print with these grey pants. I’ve paired that with some gold brass and grey stone accessories.
Zara basic blue scoop neck shirt
H&M grey leopard print pants
Uranium Glazing necklace (from the upcoming Fall 2013 collection)
Snow may not have hit Toronto yet but it’s definitely beanie weather again. I found this super cute knit beanie at H&M the other night and thought it’d be the perfect addition to my growing beanie collection. I used to think I looked silly with a beanie on but it’s definitely grown on me! Do you like beanies? Do you think it’s just a fad?
Speaking of H&M, how exciting is the new Isabel Marant x H&M collection that will be out on November 14th? Everyone’s been talking about it for the last couple of weeks. I saw tons of photos from the official launch in Paris last week and a bunch from the H&M collection preview last night in Toronto. Here are some of my fav looks from their ad campaign… These looks will be flying off the shelves in no time, mark my words!
Stoked for Biko Jewellery’s sample sale that starts today! For all the deets, go here.
This week is Indie Week in Toronto. Lot’s of great shows happening around the city featuring some of Canada’s best indie bands. The festival goes on until the end of the week. There are still some tickets left, so if you’re looking for some great Canadian music to check out, go see the line up here.
The hat is back! I love it because not only is it really stylish but it’s also the perfect mix between a fedora and a cowboy hat! Wearing this hat has me wondering if I should buy more 😉
Really looking forward to stopping by Biko Jewellery‘s studio this evening after work to check out pieces from her new collection. Corrine is such a creative and talented jewellery designer, she always has the coolest ideas for new pieces. Excited to see what she’s been working on. I know she’s been getting lot’s of success in the US lately so I can’t wait to hear all about it! You can check out her latest lookbook for her FW13 “Dark Star” collection here: http://vimeo.com/72155489
Bringing out the knits today! I’ve never really thought of wearing knits at work, I usually wear sweaters on vacation, when I’m at home or after doing sports but am giving it a shot today! I tried to dress it up a bit with skinnys, my Anine Bing boots and a few Biko Jewellery accessories. It sure is comfy 😉
Yesterday I found out the best news ever: I have enough Air Miles for more than one round trip across North/South America or Europe! WHAT?! Having not checked my Air Miles balance in years, I was surprised to see just how many I had accumulated over the last little while. I couldn’t be more thrilled. As someone with serious wanderlust, that always wants to travel, this was the best news ever. If you had enough Air Miles to go anywhere in Europe or North/South America, where would you go?
As temperatures drop closer and closer to zero, I figured it was the appropriate time to whip back out my favorite faux-leather pants!
