October 1st

Pinch me! I can’t believe it’s already October! Things I love about October: the leaves changing colours, the crisp smell of fall, being able to wear pants again, bringing my collection of teas back out, etc! Another thing about October is that it’s BREAST CANCER AWARENESS month. Breast cancer is a cause that touches me directly, my mother is a breast cancer survivor. Unfortunately, a lot of her friends who were also diagnosed around the same time as her, have passed away. We’ve come such a long way in regards to treatment but we still have so much further to go. There are so many great initiatives and campaigns out there to raise funds for breast cancer. I particularly liked this unique campaign I saw today by Surfline x Mauli Ola Foundation called “Battle For The Breasts”, which gets you to vote for your favorite women surfers. You can check it out here. For more information on Breast Cancer Awareness month, you can check out the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation or your local Breast Cancer organization.

Enjoying the last few days of warm weather this year to wear my shorts a couple more times. Wearing a long sleeve shirt today just to make the outfit a little warmer.

Orchid

I have a thing for flowers… I’ve always had. Maybe it’s a girl thing, maybe it’s the fact that I don’t live somewhere where flowers grow outside all year round. I like their delicateness, I like their colors, I like their smell and all of their different shapes and sizes. Each flower represents something different to me, a different time or event in my life. As a kid, I would receive flowers after dance shows, figure skating shows, birthdays, school graduations, etc. My mother would always adorn our house with fresh bouquets of flowers every week. It was just something that made our house not only smell nice but also feel a lot more alive. My favorite flowers are definitely peonies (hence the tattoo), but I really love them all! My dream is to live somewhere where I can have flowers around me all throughout the year. In the meantime, I try to decorate my apartment with flowers here and there, those than can survive with little sunlight or throughout the winter. Happy to have brought this new addition home!

I’ve been waiting for tonight since Valentine’s Day! Tonight is Katy Perry‘s World Prismatic Tour debut in Toronto! I was so stoked when I received tickets as a gift from @offner in Miami back in February. I’ve always loved Katy Perry’s magical and colorful universe. I can’t wait to see all the costumes and set tonight! Ready to get my dancing on!!

Flower Blouse #DailyOutfit

Happy Friday everyone! Excited for a relaxed weekend at home before the Canadian Music Week madness begins! I’ve been hiding from the rain all week watching all the latest episodes of Kitchen Nightmares and also the amazing new season of Anthony Bourdain‘s Parts Unkown. If you’ve watched some of his shows before, you know that Anthony Bourdain’s shows are beautifully shot, feature some of the yummiest food and some of the dreamiest locations in the world. The latest season of Parts Unknown is no exception. As someone with a serious case of wanderlust, watching the show just makes me want to travel even more! The latest episode on Lyon, a place I’ve had the pleasure of traveling to (I even ate at the same place at Bourdain – Comptoir Abel!) is magical! Also watching it with Offner, a Lyon-native made it that much more special. I’ve grown really fond of anything Bourdain does and highly recommend watching any of his series (No Reservations, The Layover and Parts Unknown). The first two seasons of Parts Unknown are available on Netflix. This Sunday – it’s Mexico!! Can’t wait!

Headband Love #DailyOutfit

The last time I remember wearing a headband before this year must have been when I was in high school or maybe even younger. If you check Pinterest (here!) or you go on any fashion website or designer site (here!), you’ll see that headbands are everywhere right now. They are no longer just for Coachella flower girls or for working out, headbands are definitely more of an “every day” hair accessory now. When I received this rad leopard headband from Uranium, I couldn’t help my try to style it. Surprisingly, I didn’t look like a total goof (or at least that’s what I think!). What I like about headbands is that there are all sorts, some dressier than others and are a perfect way to add a little extra something to your outfit. Plus it’s perfect for a bad hair day! Are you a fan of headbands?

Easter White #DailyOutfit

Happy Easter weekend everyone!! Whether you’re with the family, traveling abroad or simply just hanging at home, I hope it’s a relaxing and beautiful weekend! I’m excited to have a laid back weekend at home, probably the last in a while so I’m going to enjoy it to the fullest!

Celebrating this weekend with some easter white. Can’t get enough of these white denim trousers from Zara. Best purchase I made a few seasons ago, because they still look brand new and can be worn all year round! Also can’t wait for my new custom Modern Vice boots to get here from NYC. Might be getting them next week, can’t wait to show you all!!

Take A Walk On The Wild Side #DailyOutfit

Today would have been the perfect day to wear Sorel boots in Toronto! Mother Nature is at it again and giving us one hell of a winter! This is hands down the coldest and snowiest winter I’ve ever seen since I moved to Toronto 4 1/2 years ago!

Keeping warm this evening! I love a good glass of wine & candles to relax after work!

Jean on Jean #DailyOutfit

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a lovely weekend! I attended the sold-out show The Balconies put on Saturday at Lee’s Palace. Couldn’t be more excited about their current success! Offner and I also spent time antiquing in Newmarket with the lovely Chevy Cruze Diesel I had been driving all week. Check back soon for a full recap of my #ChevyDrive adventure from this past week!

Got a super long 6 day work week ahead but counting down the days until my next trip in less than two weeks. Can’t wait to soak in the Miami sun!!

Today’s outfit: Jean on jean on leather… and a banana? Never hurts to have a little fun 😉

eLUXE x Song Of Style #DailyOutfit

I was delighted to attend the launch of the eLUXE x Song Of Style capsule collection in Toronto tonight. Like 1.2 million other people, I’ve been following Aimee Song‘s instagram/twitter/blog for the last year and a half. Not only am I a fan of her incredible fashion sense, I also love the fact that she’s traveling the world living her dream. I really respect and admire the life she’s created for herself, it’s really inspiring to see!

What’s weird about social media is even if you’ve never met the person before, you feel like you somehow know them. This evening, I got to meet the lovely Aimee for a few minutes. As expected, she was a total sweetheart! She was gracious enough to pose for photos and chat with all the girls that had gathered at the event!

Props to eLUXE for having thought of this collaboration with Aimee. There’s no doubt in my mind that it will be SUPER successful. The launch tonight was really cute – all the mannequins had been personally styled by Aimee herself, they had refreshments, giveaways and even had a candy bar!

Stoked on the two pieces I got tonight! Will be perfect for my upcoming travels! You can check out the collection here. #DoEpicChic #VoiLÀ
