Though being sick doesn’t make you feel like the most chic person in the world, wearing a t-shirt that says “Do Epic Chic” definitely motivated me this morning to put on a brave face and go to work while feeling super ill. Plus this special eLUXE x Song of Style collaboration tee is super comfy and fits just perfectly!
Decided to make myself some homemade soup with lot’s of spices this evening in order to hopefully get back in tip top shape!! Plus I love making soup!! (Here is one of my favorite recipes!)
Happy New Year everyone! Hope you’ve all had amazing holidays!! After a month-long break I’m excited to be back home and back to blogging. I took a much needed break but am now filled with more energy than ever. Excited to see what 2014 has in store!
What did you guys get up to during the break? I had the opportunity to travel to France, Montreal and the US. I can’t wait to share my travel adventures with you all. I’ll be posting a special France and Stowe blog in the next couple of days. Looking forward to sharing some of my favorite memories from the trip!
For my first outfit of the year, I’m doing purple and black. I love the delicate bracelet from Lyon designer Sophie Deschamps I received as a gift while I was in France. Everyone in France are wearing them right now. Not only can they be worn all the time but they’re also easily stackable. Whenever I look at it, I’m reminded of the wonderful time I had!
Stoked on my funky new Uranium necklace. Since I can’t afford a pair of real leather pants (like these dreamy ones for example – WANT) at the moment, I’m sticking with the faux leather slacks. I got these last year at H&M for $40 and they’re one of my best purchases ever!
Yup, only 1 week left before my trip to France. Thrilled! That said, I will miss my city while I’m away. Yesterday, I had the chance to going to an event located at the Steamwhistle Roundhouse, which is right beside the CN Tower. I’ve always been fascinated by this enormous structure. When I first moved to Toronto, it would always help me orient myself in the city and find my way home, something I really appreciated. I also love that they light it up in so many colors all-year-round. The thing you learn from traveling a lot is to really appreciate the time you’re at home and your city. I never had that feeling while I was living in Montreal, I used to get panic attacks when my airplane would be circling over the city to land but in Toronto, I always have a sense of comfort whenever I get back. So I will miss you Toronto!
For today’s outfit, it’s black and burgundy with some silver accessories. I don’t have nearly as many silver jewels as I have gold jewels but once in a while, I like wearing only silver for the day.
So excited for the Song Of Style for eLUXE event tomorrow evening! Will I be seeing you there?
T – 14 days before my next adventure – France!!! Ah can’t wait! Still have 4 shows to shoot before I leave including our holiday special.
It’s been really cold in Toronto these past few stays so I’ve been staying sane by sipping lot’s of tea and also watching some surf flicks. Last night I watched the doc featuring Kelly Slater: The Ultimate Wave – Teahupoo. The film is really well shot and is not only beautiful to watch but also informational. After watching it, all I wanted to do was pack my bags and leave for Tahiti stat! Check out the trailer below:
Today’s outfit was centered around my the 10th Tribe beanie and some green and black items. My Modern Vice Camo Jetts go perfectly with this kind of moto and army themed ensemble. I love me some post-work reading.
When I hear “sweater weather” I can’t help but think of The Neighbourhood‘s track
Though California represents anything but “sweater weather” to me, I still really love this track and beautiful black and white video!
One thing’s for sure, it’s definitely sweater weather in Toronto right now. I love this bright sweater I bought at Target a little white ago. It goes great with my houndstooth skirt. Today I’m also keeping warm with my knee high socks!
Finally, after probably one of the busiests weeks of my life, I’m back home!! It was really lovely to some my family while I was in Montreal as well as some old friends but as I’ve said before, there’s nothing quite like sleeping in your own bed!! I did however make good use of my hotel’s gym and lot’s of room service while I was away… It made the week go by faster!
Only 3 weeks before our departure for France, so thrilled! I’m really looking forward to being home for those three weeks before I leave again for a month. I’m going to take that time to make lot’s of homemade meals, write Christmas cards, enjoy our newly decorated apartment, lakefront runs and catching up with friends! What is it you love doing most after coming home from a trip?
Kept it pretty basic for today’s outfit. Stripes, super comfy & soft TOPSHOP skinnies and some spiked boots.
Montreal bound for almost a week for work! Excited to host the Quebec Indie Music Awards on Sunday night!
The one thing I recently learned, is that I can no longer travel without my Anine Bing jeans and boots. They are a traveler’s best friend! Not only are they super versatile and stylish, they’re also SO comfortable!
Speaking of travel, Offner sent me a list of 31 places to visit around the world this morning. The list is absolutely ridiculous! I actually have yet to travel to any of these places. You can consult the full list here. I hope to be able to live long enough to do all 31 of them!! They are now all on my bucket list. What places are on yours?! Where do you absolutely want to travel to?
Last day in Toronto for a week. Off to Montreal tomorrow for work. I know it’s been snowing already in Quebec so I’m gonna make sure I dress SUPER warm and bring along my Zara furry leopard coat!!
I recently added yet another leopard print item to my wardrobe. This time, it’s a long pencil skirt. I’ve had a thing for leopard print skirts ever since I saw Gwen Stefani wear one in the “Sunday Morning” music video back in what 1997? If you need a refresher, click here. I paired that up today with a stripped black and white top and my Anine Bing boots. So glad I opted for low heels because a below the knee stretchy pencil skirt is hard to walk in 😉
Happy Wednesday! How’s your thus far? In a week from today I’ll be back on the road for work, probably my last work trip of the year before the holidays. Back to Montreal again to amongst other things, co-host a music gala. Once that’s over, the mental prep for France will commence. For those who’ve been to France before, what were some of your favorite hotspots? Your favorite areas? Anything to recommend? I’m always on the lookout for new things to check out while travelling!
Back with the prints on today’s outfit. I’m wearing a more subdued version of the leopard print with these grey pants. I’ve paired that with some gold brass and grey stone accessories.
Zara basic blue scoop neck shirt
H&M grey leopard print pants
Uranium Glazing necklace (from the upcoming Fall 2013 collection)
