Happy Monday! Hope you all had a restful and beautiful weekend! Happy to finally be able to bring out some lighter shades of trousers now that the weather is warmer and that it’s more “appropriate” to do so. I got these rad pale denim skinny moto trousers during my last visit to LA. I’m so obsessed with the Anine Bing jeans I had bought last summer that I had to get new pairs and this one seemed perfect for the spring and summer. I’ve never owned too many pairs of light denim but these were just too cool to pass up. Plus, they look awesome with a lot of bright colors!
A little music inspiration to end your day – HAIM! In case you missed their set at Coachella this weekend, you can watch it in full HD –> here.
Today, one of my favorite new bands called Language Arts released a brand new record. The band’s leader Kristen reminds me a lot of Lisa Loeb with her glasses and her style of singing. You can stream Wonderkind in full here. Listening to the record on repeat helped me get through the day (feeling ill again, boo!), particularly this song – “Oh Tangible World”. Here’s a cute acoustic version:
Happy I’m able to take my Pamela Love boots back out. As one of my friends Nicolenoticed the other day, ankle boots seem to be all the rage now that the weather is warming up. In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a HUGE fan of ankle boots. I think they’re totally worth investing in because they go with just about anything: skinnies, dresses, skirts, shorts, etc. You can also find a good pair of ankle boots for under $200. One of my favorite maker of ankle boots is a brand from NYC called Modern Vice. They’ve got just about every style and color imaginable and are handmade right in Manhattan. Though a bit more pricey, they’re definitely worth the money. During my last trip to NYC I was able to order two new pairs, which I can’t wait to show you! Do you have a favorite pair of ankle boots?
Pink is a hot color this season! Though I don’t have a pale pink jacket to strut around in, I definitely have a few pink garments and accessories that I like to wear once in a while. Like most girls, I loved pink as a child but haven’t been wearing much pink in the last few years. I like that the clothes I’m wearing today are a variation of pink! Are you someone that wears a lot of pink?
Yesterday we received our first ever Fresh City Farms vegetable and fruit bag, from local organic farmers in Ontario. I can’t believe I didn’t think of doing this before. For $30 a week, they deliver right to your doorstep a bag filled with seasonal fruits and veggies. You can also add a bunch of extras to your bag: cheese, honey, fresh bread, etc. They also give you some sample recipes every week, recipes for the fruits and veggies in your bag. What’s great about getting a different bag each week is that it forces you to not only eat healthy but also helps you be more creative with the food you make. Plus, being someone who eats a lot of fruits and veggies every day, I find that this makes it a lot cheaper.
So last night, I used some of the veggies we had received to make my first ever homemade pottage. It really didn’t take long! I basically just boiled a bunch of veggies from the bag (leek, brocoli, mushrooms, tomatos, garlic), added a few spices, a bit of oil and olive juice, a touch of almond milk and blended everything up. Voilà! Perfect for the fall!
It’s now pant weather again! Feels good to take out some of my favs from last season. Seems like I’m not the only one who’s stoked about fall fashion. One of the things I’m most excited about this season, are all the rad jackets that are coming out. Here are some of my favorite jackets for the fall… Wish I could get them all! AHH they are so heavenly!!

I was lucky to have stellar weather during my trip to New York this weekend! For the occasion, I packed some light colorful clothes. I absolutely love my white denim pants that I bought last spring at Zara. They’re so versatile and don’t wrinkle! I also still can’t get enough of my Pamela Lovex Nine West boots. I always get so many compliments when I wear them. While I was in NYC this weekend, I actually got to peek at a new collaboration Miss Pamela Love is doing with VEDA for next fall. They made some stunning biker jackets! Keep an eye out for them!
Happy Thursday! This week has just been flying by! I’m beyond excited to be heading back to New York tomorrow to hang out with one of my besties and to meet some really great people. I’m delighted to finally meet the two lovely ladies behind Lionette. I’ll also be stopping by the Bing Bang NYC showroom and Verameat‘s BK store. Plus the weather should be amazing this weekend, perfect for walking around Manhattan and Brooklyn. I just wished I wasn’t getting up at 4am to take my flight eek!
For today’s outfit, I’m wearing hearts and one of my favorite new necklaces from Biko Jewellery: the Rena Ring Necklace.
Hope all is well! Was at work ridiculously early this morning to get started on my Juno red carpet story that I’m editing today for next Monday’s show. Though we’ve already posted a little teaser from the red carpet on Sunday night, I’ll be putting together a story featuring some of my favorite moments from Sunday night. The whole thing will be airing next Monday April 29th at 8pm EST on TFO across Canada and online at http://tfo.org.
Today’s outfit featuring a rad custom denim buttoned up shirt that was re-cut and patched that I got in Vancouver last summer. It’s a one-of-a-kind piece. I love the thunderbird design on the patch. I’ve paired that with a plain white tee, my green pants and Pamela Love x Nine West boots. I’m also wearing my thunderbird silver bangle, Lionette bracelet and a few other silver sparkles.
To start off the day the right way, check out Rennes, France‘s Juveniles band. They’ve just released a groovy new track called “Fantasy” that was produced by Yuksek. It came out on Monday. Listen here:
My obsession with all-things southwestern is apparent today in my daily outfit. I love this aztec print top that I found last year in a little store in Vermont. Also, as part of the swag I ordered from Forever 21, I purchased a super cute thunderbird and faux-stone cuff that I absolutely love. Lately, I’ve been considering getting a thunderbird tattoo, I love what it stands for. It says “The thunderbird is a legendary creature in certain North American indigenous peoples’ history and culture. It is considered a “supernatural” bird of power and strength.” I realized that I’ve had a thing for thunderbirds for quite some time now. I have many accessories and decorations with thunderbirds around my house and in my jewelry box… That and all of the day of dead skulls I’ve been bringing back from Mexico. Two of my favorite things! My apartment is also a mix of Mexican-inspired art/decor mixed with some southwestern items. The perfect blend!
Wishing you all a great long Easter weekend!!

Happy Tuesday everyone! It feels like forever since I posted a blog. I’m playing catchup today and posting two outfits instead of one! How was your weekend? Did you all have a great week last week? I just got back from a few days of vacation in the middle of the night Sunday. It was absolutely wonderful to get away for a bit. Nothing quite like spending time with some of your best girlfriends in one of your favorite places on earth. Plus, I braved the cold water and surfed a bit. It was actually the first time I surfed in California in winter and was surprised by how warm the water was. No need for a hood or gloves, just boots and a wetsuit did the trick 🙂
I’ve been traveling to California since 2005 and it’s really become my second home. Not only do some of my greatest friends live there, my surfboard is also there and I just always have the best time!
While I was away, I received a lovely package in the mail from one of my favorite jewelry designers from NY called Lionette (designs by Noa Sade). I’ve been seeing a lot of her pieces on my instagram feed and am absolutely crazy for her new collection that she presented during NYFW a few weeks ago. Her team is currently working on putting up a new website with her new collection. I will be giving you more info in the weeks to come.
So it’s with much excitment that I wore some of my lovely new Lionette pieces for our show shoot yesterday 🙂
Happy Friday! Spent a great evening last night at the Folk Alliance Festival in Toronto. I’ll be posting a blog later this weekend on some of my discoveries from this year’s festival. There is such a talented crop of folk musicians out there, it’s really impressive! Definitely one of my all-time music festivals to attend.
For today’s outfit, I decided to wear denim on denim tops and my southwestern inspired print pants plus my favorite booties from Pamela Love x Nine West.
