Yesterday NYFW came to a close after 8 days of runway shows and events at the Lincoln Center and all across Manhattan. I hope you’ve enjoyed my favorite look posts throughout the week. I’ve created a special Pinterest board with all of my favorite looks from this season. Check it out here. Here are my favorite looks from Day 8 at NYFW. My favorite collection of the day: J Mendel!
Despite the fact that it was the before last day, there were still some great shows taking place at NYFW yesterday. My discovery of the day was hands down – Elie Tahari. I think that she presented looks that had lot’s of interesting textures and layers. I liked that she explored different fabrics and combined them together. I also loved her shoe selection, that resembled the classic TOMS shoe but with more of an edge.
NYFW is still going strong! Here are some of my favorite looks from yesterday! One of my favorites Alice + Olivia presented a beautiful and dainty collection. Obsessed with everything Narciso Rodriguez presented!! My designer discovery of the day: Veronica Beard. Loved the layered looks!
Day 5 at NYFW! My discovery of the day: Rosetta Getty. Not only did I love the entire collection, I also loved the way the looks where put together and where the collection was shot. I think the location and style of the photography complement her creations incredibly well.
Busy weekend over in New York City at NYFW. Crushing hard on the new Mara Hoffman collection. I love her take on the bohemian style, her bright colors and imprimés! New discovery for me this wekend: Zoë Jordan! Love how each outfit was styled, the color pallet she used and the cuts of each garment. I also really loved all of the shoes and boots that Victoria Beckham chose for her collection. Drooling over those leopard print pointed toe boots!
New York Fashion Week is officially underway. Since I can’t make it out in person, like many of you, I will be watching the shows as they are livestreamed on Mercedez-Benz FashionWeek‘s website, while also keeping an eye on Style.com‘s photo galleries to see the runway looks from up close! I’ve also created a special Pinterest board, that you can check out here, where I’ll be posting some of my favorite pics from this season’s shows, etc.
Here are some of my favorite looks from Day 1. My favorite collection presented today was hands down: Hellessy. It was hard to only pick a few looks from everything that was presented. I love the minimalistic yet edgy vibe.
Last night after work, I saw the first ever Canadian screening of the Greek film Wasted Youth at the TIFF, a movie that was loosely inspired by an event that happened in Anthens, Greece back in 2008. I thoroughly enjoyed the Q&A with the movie’s two co-directors following the screening. Though not scripted and produced with a small budget and diy attitude, the movie is beautiful to watch and tells a very poignant story of a young skateboarder and middle-aged policeman, who’s lives are set to cross paths. The soundtrack of the movie, all original music from Greek bands is also fantastic! There is another screening this Saturday if ever you’d like to check it out!
For today’s outfit, I’m mixing patterns: Black and white vs. camo! If my mom were to see my outfit today, she wouldn’t be very proud. It basically goes against everything she taught me about fashion (no mixing prints, no mismatching colors, etc) but I’ve been seeing a lot of mixed prints on runway photos from NYFW so I figured I’d give it a shot. You like?
So excited because today I’m heading back to Miami! It’s almost been a year since I last visited this exciting city so I can’t wait to see what’s new, discover new parts of South Beach and enjoy the beach!
I’m sad to be missing all of the NYFW action and livestreams this weekend but it’s for a good cause 😉
Stay tuned for a new travel blog on Miami to come next week!
Happy Tuesday everyone! It feels like forever since I posted a blog. I’m playing catchup today and posting two outfits instead of one! How was your weekend? Did you all have a great week last week? I just got back from a few days of vacation in the middle of the night Sunday. It was absolutely wonderful to get away for a bit. Nothing quite like spending time with some of your best girlfriends in one of your favorite places on earth. Plus, I braved the cold water and surfed a bit. It was actually the first time I surfed in California in winter and was surprised by how warm the water was. No need for a hood or gloves, just boots and a wetsuit did the trick 🙂
I’ve been traveling to California since 2005 and it’s really become my second home. Not only do some of my greatest friends live there, my surfboard is also there and I just always have the best time!
While I was away, I received a lovely package in the mail from one of my favorite jewelry designers from NY called Lionette (designs by Noa Sade). I’ve been seeing a lot of her pieces on my instagram feed and am absolutely crazy for her new collection that she presented during NYFW a few weeks ago. Her team is currently working on putting up a new website with her new collection. I will be giving you more info in the weeks to come.
So it’s with much excitment that I wore some of my lovely new Lionette pieces for our show shoot yesterday 🙂
Happy Monday! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Did you watch The Grammys last night? If so, what were your thoughts? I did ok with my Grammy predictions, how did you fare? Are you happy with the winners? The two wins that irritated me the most last night: Fun winning pretty much everything they were nominated for (I’m sorry but I just can’t stand them + they delivered an out-of-key performance last night) and Gotye winning record of the year (other than his song with Kimbra, can anyone name any other tracks from his record? I think not!).
Today we’re shooting yet another BRBR show. I was inspired byNYFW when I got dressed this morning, particularly by all the street style photos I’ve been seeing and the Rebecca Minkoff fashion RMFall show from last week. So today I’m wearing a pop of color with my yellow top, black skirt, grey tights, over the knee socks, black leather booties, my bib necklace, VERAMEAT initial ring (did you know you can get 33% off all Verameat stuff until Valentine’s Day when you enter my special code here) and Dior glasses (feeling like a zombie this morning!)
