Was back at work this week and have been keeping busy filming the show opener for BRBR. I had the best time doing it, I got to channel my inner rockstar these past two days, playing the frontwoman of a band. As a teen, I always wanted to trade places with Gwen Stefani or Brody Dale for a day, this week I got to do that! See pic below. Stoked to see the result! The show starts on September 24th on TFO and online and I couldn’t be more excited.
Here’s this week’s ear candy:
Kandle released this past week a brand new video for her track “Small”. She’s an upcoming singer-songwriter from Montreal (by way of Victoria) and the daughter of the famous Neil Osborne, singer and guitarist for 5440. She currently has an EP out, which I highly recommend checking out. Here’s her video:
Snowblink is a cool duo from LA/Toronto, who will be releasing their sophomore record on Arts & Crafts called Inner Classics on September 11th. Here’s the first single off of this record, which I absolutely fell in love with this week (no, it’s not only because it’s called “Unsurfed Waves” :p):
Railbird is an experimental pop band from Brooklyn, NY. I hadn’t heard of them before this week but was immediately interested in what they’re doing because they released a new track and video featuring Sarah Barthel from Phantogram and Sean Rowe. You can check out their stellar song called “Jump Ship” right here:
Really got into this track from Sun Airway this week called “Close”. It’s from their forthcoming record entitled Soft Fall out October 2nd on Dead Oceans. Check it out:
One of my current favorites from Quebec Fanny Bloom just released a new video this week for her track “Tes Bijoux”. It’s the second single off of her debut solo release called Apprentie Guerrière. She’s a fantastic songwriter and I couldn’t be more excited to have her be a part of BRBR’s launch event happening in Ottawa on September 5th (all the deets for this show are here: https://www.facebook.com/events/460507850646883/. Wishing you all a fantastic weekend!
