This weekend I watched an amazing documentary on Netflix (between some House of Cards episodes!!) called “Spinning Plates“, which profiles three different restaurants in the US that are each so unique and different but who all get struck by tragedy. The doc reveals how meaningful food can be and how powerful it can be to bring people together. The documentary film has won several awards already and I can see why. A truly touching story, worth watching!
Really excited to be going back to LA tomorrow! I can’t believe it’s already been several months since my last trip. It’s crazy how time flies! My upcoming trip can be summarized by the following words: Friends x Surfing x Food x Tattoos x Fashion. Wearing my American Eagle sweater from Topshop to celebrate today. Getting ready to go!!
Happy Hump Day! What’s on the program for your Wednesday?
The weekend is approaching fast. I get to stay in Toronto again! This weekend is the Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, basically a free all-night contemporary art event happening all around the city. I think what makes me the most excited about Nuit Blanche is all the food trucks that are going to be parked around the city. Though there isn’t a specific food truck event happening this year, I’m looking forward to checking out a bunch of different vendors for some late night snacks. Check out the list here. Any exhibits that you gotta check out this year?
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I spent my Saturday in Wasaga Beach with friends. Though not a fan of Wasaga’s jersey shore type vibe, it’s always fun to spend a day with your toes in the sand and swimming in a beautiful lake. The waves were so big this weekend, it almost felt like I was swimming in the ocean… almost! I also did two of my favorite things yesterday: had a yummy brunch at The Federal and did a BBQ with friends! Grateful for such a fantastic weekend!
For today’s outfit, I’m wearing a cute little dress I found last summer in Vermont. I love the silky feel to it and it’s fun print. Today’s arm candy is a mix of black and gold.
Today started off with exciting news from my favorite Canadian airline Porter Airlines. Those who know me, know just how much I rave about this airline. I’ve been flying with Porter ever since they started in 2006. I would come to Toronto from Montreal for work when I was at Indica Records and would always travel with Porter. I love its convenience, great customer service, attention to detail, sandwich boxes, etc. Today they’ve made a huge annoucement regarding new destinations and a new fleet of planes. They’ll now be flying to Los Angeles, Vancouver, Calgary, Miami and Orlando. They’ll also be receiving 30 new CS100Bombardier planes, thus becoming the first Canadian airline to use these aircrafts. If all goes according to plan, the first planes will be taking flight in 2016! For more information on their future plans, go here. I couldn’t be more exciting for Porter Airlines! Stoked to be flying Porter all the way to my second home, Los Angeles 🙂
Last night, I finally received my rad 10th Tribe limited edition Doll beanie that I had ordered during their 10 hour sale. I first heard of 10th Tribe through instagram, the lovely Danielle Bernstein from We Wore What always wears her Doll beanie. The 10th Tribe was created by a group of friends in Manhattan who designed effortless and clean-cut clothing that they wanted to wear. The 10th Tribe design beanies, tees, tanks & more! I recommend checking out their website to see what they’re all about and to find out when their next 10 hour sale of exclusive products for their followers will take place.
For today’s outfit, I’m proudly repping the 10th Tribe with my new limited edition Doll beanie, leather pants, leopard shirt, denim jacket and dreamy armcandy from Lionette & Biko 🙂
Starting off the day with a chat with one of my favorite Toronto artists Diamond Rings, who’s coming by our studio for an interview and performance. I love his super uplifting and positive electro-pop sounds! Watch “I’m Just Me”, loves it! Wanted to make sure I had a killer outfit for him today, such a fan of his style!
Following that, I’m heading to York U, to talk to the students about our CMW showcase taking place tomorrow (Just found out the advance tickets are sold out, crazy!!) and our show BRBR. Rushing back to the station afterwards to produce a live session with Elephant Stone, a great rock act from Montreal who are showcasing at CMW tomorrow evening.
So today’s outfit is a mix of chic, rock n’ roll and fashionable. Perfect for all of the day’s events. VERAMEAT, Luxe Craving, Rebel and Fuss, Flashbacks & Lionette jewelry are adding sparkles to my outfit!
Ever wake up on a Thursday morning and have the impression that it’s Friday? Yup, that happened to me this morning! Some weeks just seem to go on forever. Thank god it’s Thursday and the weekend is right around the corner. As I’m sure all of you know already, Zara finally launched their online store yesterday morning and like many Canadians I flocked to their site. I couldn’t be more stoked to finally be able to make my Zara purchases online, the only danger is not being able to control myself. Over the past couple of years, I’ve developed a serious Zara addiction. I find they’ve really stepped it up a notch with their designs, which are still very affordable. Looking forward to making many Zara online purchases in the future!
I couldn’t be more excited to be going out to Wrongbar tonight to see London’s Citizens! play. I haven’t been to Wrongbar in a while, so I’m thrilled about going to check out good music!
Speaking of shows, today I was featured on the renown Montreal website Montreal Concerts. I recently filled out their famous Concert Questionnaire. Find out what my all-time favorite show is here. Any guesses on what it might be?
Couldn’t be more excited for tonight! One of my favorite Canadian singer-songwriters Hannah Georgas is back in Toronto for a show at the MOD Club with Aidan Knight. Hannah is probably one of the only artists who can make me smile, dance, laugh and cry during one set. Her voice is absolutely stunning and powerful and her lyrics tug on your heartstrings. There’s no doubt in my mind that she is poised for greatness! Below, I’ve posted a live video of my favorite track from her new self-titled record – “Ode to Mom”.
Keeping the Friday dress tradition going today! I’m wearing a denim jacket, black ruffle dress, my Je voudrais être une princesse boots and a bunch of my favorite gold, black and beige armcandy.
I bought a long see-through black dress this past summer at Forever 21 and haven’t really worn it since. I decided to finally take it out of my closet, pair it up with some colorful tights, throw in a few accessories (my favorite The 2 Bandits cuffs & my Rebel & Fuss ring) and give the dress a shot.
