One thing I’ve been meaning to do for a long time is go horseback riding. As of late, I’ve been thinking of all the things I have yet to do a lot of in my life and getting to know horses better and try horseback riding again is one of those things. Horses are such beautiful animals but I’ve only had the chance to be around them a handful of times in my life. My aunt is actually a champion at show jumping and barrel racer out west and there are several photos in my mom’s house of me as a child beside my aunt’s horse before or after her competitions. As a kid, I remember visiting her bedroom and seeing dozens of ribbons, medals and trophies for her achievements in horseback riding. Lately, I’ve had the opportunity to visit a bunch of places in France that had ponys but have yet to spend much time with horses. One more thing to add to the bucket list I guess 😀
Happy weekend everyone! Hope you all had a great Halloween last night.
I’m sharing with you today, my last and final look from my nature walk in Toronto. Fall is really underway in the city… it was even snowing a little bit this morning. I hope you get out to enjoy the lovely fall colors before all the leaves fall down.
Living in a place with four seasons, reminds me every year of how fast time goes by. It seems like just yesterday I moved to Toronto, but this week I celebrated my 5th anniversary in the city. Grateful for all that the city has brought me since I’ve made that move. Not sure if I’ll be staying in Toronto forever, but there’s a really great energy in the city these days. With now a new (and hopefully much better) mayor leading the 4th biggest city in North America, I have high hopes that Toronto will continue to thrive and develop into an even greater place. Really happy to call Toronto my home!
Another day at WMCFW, another outfit! Wearing my brand new Anine Bing dress. I thought it was super cute when I saw it on the racks of the brand new Anine Bing store in Los Angeles last month so I had to get it. Happy the sun was finally out yesterday in Toronto 🙂
Never thought I’d be a big fan of baggy faux leather pants but then I tried on this comfy as hell pants from M for Mendocino a few weeks back and decided to had to have them. Not only are they comfy but they’re also super warm. I think they’ll officially become my new travel pants. Plus you get dress them up with heels or with a nice pair of boots or even opt for a more casual look with sneakers or slip-on shoes. Would you wear the baggy leather pant?
Knee high socks are perfect for the beginning of fall. I love combining a comfy oversized shirt with a cute dress. Had the pleasure of checking out the amazing new The Kooples store while I was in Los Angeles last month. The Kooples is a badass rock n’ roll brand from France that I had the pleasure of discovering in Paris two years ago thanks to Offner. I love absolutely every piece the brand puts out. It’s the perfect combination of rock and dainty. I just couldn’t resist the amazing boots that I saw on display!
Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Starting my week off with these colorful treats to brighten up the start of my work week. Long day ahead! I’ll be co-hosting the Polaris Prize pre-show livestream starting at 7pm EST this evening on AUX.TV. If you’re a fan of Canadian music, make sure you watch tonight’s show! You can tune in live here. Jay Baruchel will be hosting the main gala that starts at 8pm EST.
Happy Monday! Feliz Cinco de Mayo! Will you be celebrating with a mojito or eating yummy Mexican food this evening?! I’m very fond of Mexico, its people and its culture. I’ve had the opportunity to travel to Mexico on several occasions: I was able visit a bit of Mexico City but my favorite destinations thus far have been Puerto Escondido and Sayulita. Mexico too often gets a bad rap but I’ve only met wonderful people and had the best of times while traveling in this beautiful country. It’s where my love of surf developed and where I’ve met people I know call some of my best friends. So Happy Cinco de Mayo amigos mexicanos!
Today starts one of the busiest weeks of the year for me – the annual Canadian Music Week. I’ve been attending CMW every year since 2007, wearing different hats. This year I’ll be doing a bunch of live music sessions for the show I host BRBR as well as hosting a showcase on Thursday night at the Gladstone Hotel. All the deets can be foundhere. In addition, I look forward to seeing a handful of artists that are in town for the week. There are thousands of bands coming from around the world to Toronto this week. If you’re looking for some must-see acts, I’ve created a little playlist with the help of Deezer, with some of the acts that are worth checking out. You can listen to my playlist here.
Happy the sun is finally shining down on Toronto! Celebrating by not wearing any tights!! It’s a revolution!! Love this Forever 21 mesh and lace bohemian dress that Offner found for me last year in California. Since it’s not incredible warm yet, I’ve paired it up with a plaid buttoned up shirt to make the outfit a little warmer!
Happy Monday! Hope you all had a restful and beautiful weekend! Happy to finally be able to bring out some lighter shades of trousers now that the weather is warmer and that it’s more “appropriate” to do so. I got these rad pale denim skinny moto trousers during my last visit to LA. I’m so obsessed with the Anine Bing jeans I had bought last summer that I had to get new pairs and this one seemed perfect for the spring and summer. I’ve never owned too many pairs of light denim but these were just too cool to pass up. Plus, they look awesome with a lot of bright colors!
A little music inspiration to end your day – HAIM! In case you missed their set at Coachella this weekend, you can watch it in full HD –> here.
Yesterday was a big day for my friends The Balconies! They finally launched their brand new record Fast Motions after almost a two year delay. I couldn’t be more stoked for these guys. I truly believe they’ve got what it takes to take on the world with their infectious guitar-driven rock tracks! If you haven’t already, make sure you listen to Fast Motions. For Canadians, you can check it out here & for everyone else here. Stay tuned as they’ll be coming to a city near you this winter, spring and summer! Also, personally very excited on getting my first official styling credit in the album, yay!
Today’s outfit – it’s a wintery grunge look! Nothing quite like a big comfy plaid shirt on a busy day of work!
Today was potentially the coldest day I’ve seen in Toronto since I moved to the city a few years ago. Keeping warm with some tea, fresh juices, good tunes (this new track from Phantogram is killer!!) and thinking of the warm California sun! The countdown begins shortly!
