Punch Of Red #DailyOutfit

Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I spent a rare weekend in Toronto and it was a gorgeous one! Nothing quite like going for brunch on the weekend. I discovered a new spot in Little Portugal called Bivy, owned by a lovely French man. I had a great tartiflette quiche and a yummy homemade almond croissant. Cute little spot, tasty food and good prices!

Like most Torontonians, I went to check out this year’s CNE yesterday. Though it seems like the perfect day-trip for kids, as an adult it’s a pretty pricey outing! $16 per person admission fee, $22 for two rides (I recommend skipping the Euroslide, looks rad from far but you barely make it all the way down) and $5+ for games! The food building is always a trip though. I actually resisted the temptation of getting any deep fried mac n’ cheese balls or deep fried mars bars… After my cleanse last week, I figured it wouldn’t be the best thing ūüėČ My favorite part of the afternoon – meeting the Alpacas!! They have the best hairdos!! Nevertheless, we had a fun afternoon in the sun, walking around and enjoying the sights! The Ex is on until September 2nd, a bunch of Canadian bands are playing so check out the schedule!

Getting ready for the Festival d’√©t√© de Qu√©bec today. Really excited to attend the festival for a 7th year in a row! The FEQ is without a doubt one of the best organized and raddest festivals to attend in North America! Crossing my fingers for good weather because we have so much stuff to shoot for BRBR while in Quebec City! Keep an eye out for interviews and performances as well as new segments with – The Balconies, The Hunters, Xavier Caf√©√Įne, Ponctuation, Doldrums, Austra & more! We’re also organizing a rad “after-party” on July 7th. I’ll post up all the deets shortly but here’s what you need to know:

WHO: BRBR x I. Found

WHAT: 1 band + 2 DJ sets FREE! Beers, Skate Ramp & More!

WHEN: July 7th –¬†10pm

WHERE: Quebec City, Qc

Rare color combination for today’s daily outfit. I decided to challenge myself today and wear some clothes that I don’t usually wear much. I find that it’s a good exercise to do once in a while, to see if you still like to wear some of your clothes or if it’s time to donate them! Feeling like a mermaid with this shinny blue skirt… I think today’s outfit was most likely influenced by the doc I watched on Dolphins last night ūüėČ *nerd*

Happy Friday everyone! I’m sure you all have some exciting plans in the works for the long weekend! Contrary to most of you, I’ve got nothing planned and am stoked about it! This weekend will be one of the rare weekends I get to spend at home in Toronto until probably the end of September. So having nothing on the agenda, is thrilling!

Last night, my ginger sister from another mother, the lovely @latejuly asked me to do an impromptu photo shoot with her in downtown Toronto. After some birthday churros (me gusta mucho los churros con dulce de leche!! Yup… I need to practice my rusty Spanish!), we headed to the Queen and Portland area to explore some of the local graffiti and take photos. I haven’t seen the finish photo set yet but here’s a little sneak peek she sent me last night. What a blast!!

If you haven’t already, you gotta hear the rad remix she recently released of her projectt Dreamgirl Whatever‘s track “Say Your Name”, it’s pure delight!

For today’s outfit, I felt pretty bold and decided to combine a few different prints that were all in similar shades of brown/beige/black. I love the zebra-hair wedges I got in Miami last fall, they’re comfy yet also stylish!

Wishing you all a wonderful long weekend!

Flowy Skirt #DailyOutfit

Today was a good day for new music finds! Love love the new video from the Rennes, Framce outfit Juveniles. Their self-titled debut record was released on June 10th in France. Produced by Yuksek, it seems like the perfect record for the summer! I had the chance to see them last year in Rouyn-Noranda in a tiny room in the middle of nowhere. They recently played at the Cannes Film Festival music showcase and have been in pretty much every French music magazine as of late! I’m really hoping their record will be available in North America soon and that they’ll make the trip across the Atlantic to play for us again!

Here’s a perfect track for the summer:

I love summer because I don’t have to wear annoying stockings with skirts and dresses! There’s nothing more comfortable on a hot (especially humid! Hello Toronto!) summer day than a cute flowy skirt! I got this black and white skirt some time ago at H&M for $20 and though I haven’t worn it much so far, I think that it was definitely a good investment because it goes with pretty much everything! Also, I love my sleeveless blouse and these cute gold brass accessories!

Hey everyone!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I finally made it back to Toronto last night after being away for almost two weeks. I had a wonderful time at the Francofolies again this year! Happy to be home for a few days before heading to Quebec City for the Festival d’√©t√© de Qu√©bec.

Last night I watched a great doc on Netflix called Confessions of a Superhero, about the men and women who dress up as superheros on Hollywood Boulevard in LA. If you’ve been around the Kodak Theatre or walked along Hollywood Blvd., I’m sure you’ve seen a Superman or a Hulk or some other superhero posing with tourists and asking for tips. I’ve always wondered if these people made a good living doing that and why they chose that profession. I found the doc to be super informative and really interesting. To know more about the men and women wearing these costumes, check it out!

Francofolies Day 2 #DailyOutfit

I had a wonderful day today in Montreal at the Francofolies! We started the day off with a rooftop performance with O Linea, a French indie-rock/pop who have been around since 2001. Super sweet guys! We followed that up with a super intimate performance with the Montreal duo For√™t, who will be playing their 1st show ever at the Francofolies later this week. We finished off the day’s shoot with a fun chat with Steven from Le Couleur, a disco-pop-electro outfit that just released a new EP Voyage Love a few weeks ago.

After wrapping up our interviews, I headed to my moms for a few hours of relaxation in her beautiful backyard. My mom’s backyard has really become a sanctuary for me, with all of her beautiful flowers, her garden, her plants and her new spa. It’s the best place to relax and find peace! After a lovely dinner, I’m back in the city to see Jason Bajada debut his French material tonight at 10pm.

For today’s outfit, I wore pops of green and leopard print. I don’t know what inspired this combination but it was very early in the morning when I got dressed today ūüėČ That said, I liked it a lot!

Off to the Francofolies #DailyOutfit

Happy Wednesday everyone! It’s an early morning for me today as we’re off to the Francofolies in Montreal. Tomorrow, I’ll be hosting a livestream LIVE from the Polaris Prize Long List unveiling in Montreal. To find out what 40 Canadian records make the cut, tune in at 11am EST on BRBR‘s facebook page here. Following the livestream, I’ve been asked to be one of the panelists for the Montreal Polaris Salon being held at the Phi Centre at 1pm EST. It’s a free event that is open to everyone. If ever you’d like to join us for this conversation of music, you can RSVP and find all the deets here: Polaris Salon.

As of the 14th, I’ll be running around Montreal filming segments with Canadian artists for season 2 of BRBR as well as our social media. We’ll be posting a little recap of our day each day on BRBR’s youtube account that you can suscribe to here. We’ll be chatting to artists like Dumas, Jason Bajada, Sarahm√©e, O Linea, Eli et Papillon and a ton more!

For today’s outfit, I opted for some rock n’ roll comfort with my brand new Springsioux Horns Ring & Lady Cabellos poncho that I just received yesterday as well as my rad new Black Milk Clothing¬†Beetle Juice style leggings that I got on my birthday ūüôā Have you been on the Black Milk Clothing website before?! They have SO many rad leggings, bathing suits & shoes!! As for shoes, I’m rocking my new Jeffrey Campbell “Don’t Even” sandals! So comfy!!

Have a wonderful day!

White Wednesday #DailyOutfit

Happy Wednesday!

Hope your week is going well! I’m finding very hard to concentrate at work this week because I’m so stoked for my upcoming trip to LA next week. That said, I’m trying to stay focused and am working on planning out first two festival outings of the summer: the Francofolies de Montreal and the Festival d’√©t√© de Qu√©bec.

We’re putting together some of the new series that we’ve been working on for BRBR season 2. I should have a little preview for you all in the next couple of weeks ūüôā ¬†In the meantime, in case you missed it, you can now watch our 1hr special that we filmed in Ottawa at the Canadian Tulip Festival at the beginning of the month with Hollerado, Hotel Morph√©e and Pandal√©on. Can’t believe over 1200¬†people showed up for our event! What a memorable night!!

For today’s outfit, I’m wearing white, off-white and a pop of neon green. I’ve also decided to layer some of my favorite necklaces: the Biko Jaci necklace & Biko Colby necklace as well as an older H&M neon green necklace. No arm swag today, just a few dainty rings from Verameat¬†(obsessed with the Vampire Crown), Bing Bang & my daily staple – the Lady Muerte¬†ring from Springsioux (have you checked out some of the new fall/winter 2013 items previewed on their site?! You can do so here).

Holiday Monday #DailyOutfit

How spoiled were we today? We had the best weather in Toronto!

Started off this magnificent day with a nice lakefront run with my partner in crime @offneraurelien. He’s a great running partner!

photo (28)

Following our run, we grabbed a late lunch on the patio of the Drake Hotel. Always good food and good drinks at the Drake. We continued our day with a little ballad along Queen west and I stopped by Jacflash to grab a brand new One Teaspoon¬†Superman Bodice bikini for my upcoming vacation in California. I’ve been seeing the bikini pop up on my instagram feed and needed to get one for myself. I love the cut, the straps and the hot pink is adorable! Can’t wait to rock it in Venice (not surfing in this though ;))!

photo (29)

We finished off our walk with a little stop by Bellwoods, which was even more packed than usual. No surprise here! All in all, another fabulous day! Stoked for our vacation next week but also really enjoying the weather in the city. Now… movie night?!

Happy to finally be wearing shorts today! For my outfit, I mixed shades of blue, florals and also black and gold accessories. Love stacking two of my favorite necklaces: the Biko Colby necklace & the Uranium Sign necklace.

Flower Power #DailyOutfit

What a gorgeous day it is in Toronto! Perfect day for a little bike ride to work and to enjoy the sun! Really looking forward to the long weekend!!

I guess I was feeling the effects of the sun this morning when I got dressed. Bright colors and neon flowers is what I opted for. I’ve done it before but I really like matching my neon floral shirt with my mint green skinnies!

Sometimes, I look back at my daily outfit posts and can really tell what mood I was in, just based on how girly or how rock n’ roll my outfits were… What does my outfit say about my mood today?!
