Scandinave Spa Whistler

One of the best things about Whistler is the brilliant 25,000 sq ft outdoor spa located just a few minutes away from the slopes. The Scandinave Spa Whistler is the perfect place to unwind after a day of skiing, hiking or outdoor adventure in the area.

Situated right in the heart of nature, this Nordic-inspired spa enables guests to decompress and enjoy a relaxing and rejuvenating escapade.  The mountain views and fresh air transport you into an oasis of wellbeing.

One thing the Scandinave Spa is renown for is its topnotch amenities. Their baths, wood burning Finnish Sauna, eucalyptus steam room and waterfalls come together to create the most luxurious experience. This past year, they inaugurated a brand new building at the spa that features a state of the art sauna, observatory deck, lounge as well an additional eucalyptus steam room. You can also book a massage with one of their highly qualified therapists to prolong your Scandinavian bath session.

There are many health benefits associated with Scandinavian baths, also known as hydrotherapy. In addition to it being relaxing and energizing, the baths also help cleanse the body as well as stimulate blood circulation and the release of endorphins.

The spa’s eco-friendly and sustainable building allows them to truly be in harmony with their natural surroundings. They pride themselves in their “green” roof as well as the use of sustainable fibers and stainless steel water bottles. They also make sure to work with as many local suppliers as possible.

The Scandinave Cafe is a real treat, no pun intended. Their delicious and healthy locally-made snacks are the perfect pick me up after a few hours spent unwinding at the spa.

Hammam & Gommage

Caudalie spa reception-exterior-D-1200px-sRGB

I was delighted to return to Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie last week in Toronto for some much needed pampering after having been under the weather for a few days.

I always enjoy visiting this spa at the Shangri-La Hotel because it is incredibly luxurious. Every treatment I’ve ever had there has been of utmost quality and the service is always outstanding.

On this particular visit, I tried my first ever Hammam & Gommage. This 30-minute treatment starts off with 15 minutes of stress relief and relaxation in the high intensity and low mist steam chamber called the Hammam. What I loved about being in my own private Hammam, is that you can really clear your thoughts and relax. It’s like meditating in a really warm and cozy environment. The 15 minutes I spent sitting in the Hammam flew by.

Once the relaxation portion over, you are escorted out of the Hammam and into a warm room of Jerusalem gold marble as pictured above. The Gommage starts off with the rubbing of oil over your body as you lay on the luxurious marble. The spa attendant will then, using small exfoliating gloves, scrub your body with eucalyptus infused Moroccan soap, taking off all the excess skin. Once that step is complete, you will be rinsed fully. The entire process is very invigorating and uplifting. The experience felt detoxifying and left me feeling a lot better than when I arrived.

Following the Hammam & Gommage, I was escorted into their beautiful Alhambra Relaxation Lounge and offered their signature homemade baklava, grapes and mint tea. It’s the perfect setting to spend a few minutes relaxing after a treatment.

Every time I visit the spa, I am always appreciative of their exceptional facilities and change rooms. I thoroughly enjoy also being able to access Caudalie skincare products, complimentary of the spa.

The Miraj Hammam Spa is located on the 5th floor of the Shangri-La hotel in Toronto. To find out more about the spa and the treatments they offer, please go here.

Leopard is the New Black #DailyOutfit

Happy Friday everyone! Have you guys been taking advantage of all the Black Friday sales going on right now?

I had the best evening yesterday at Body Blitz Spa yesterday with my friend Jacquie. She and I went to enjoy their different pools and steam rooms as well as a nice aromatherapy massage. I love that they’re located right downtown and that they’re a women-only facility. They also had a yummy juice, smoothie and tea bar. The entire staff was delightful. I had such a relaxation evening! I highly recommend checking them out if you’re looking for the best in spa care. Felt so zen after!

I’ve definitely been hearing a lot of people saying “Leopard is the new black” this season and if you’ve been following my posts, you know that I’m leopard-obsessed so I’m glad that I’m not the only one. For today’s outfit, I’m wearing my super comfy leopard leggings, a lace top as well as gold/gold brass jewels!
